Dearest Ash,

It seems like everyone wants to argue with me, all the time.  I just want a break!

Leave Me ALONE in WA

Dear Alone,

Please don’t take offense when I say this… but the common denominator is YOU.

Perhaps it’s a good idea to look at your reactions to other people.  Most of the time, arguing is a direct reaction when two people are responding with bickering words.   It is nearly impossible to argue with someone who refuses to argue.

Try taking care of your immediate needs first.  This includes paying attention to how you feel, and why you feel it.  If you are cranky, look to your physical body first.  Are you getting enough sleep?  Are you eating right?  Are you consuming too much caffeine or sugar?

Personally, I am sensitive to caffeine, sugar, and alcohol.  These things feel good at first… but afterwards, I indefinitely crash.

Next, focus on your body language and attitude.  Find things that feel good, and practice feeling happy.  The beauty of mood is that you can transfer your good mood to most other situations.  It takes practice, yes, but it’s totally worth the effort.
